The Challenge: Refining and Structuring a Rich Creative Project

When Harry, the founder of Cavalier Adventures, first reached out to me, he brought an incredible depth of creative knowledge to the table. With over two decades of storytelling experience, he had designed beautiful, simplified Dungeons & Dragons tabletop modules tailored for kids, alongside ideas for selling physical 3D printable miniatures.

Because his work has such immense value—offering screen-free family time, educational growth, and built-in tips for neurodivergent learners—his digital presence needed to reflect that premium quality.

My primary objective as an experienced website designer was to take these multifaceted creative files and structure them into a highly polished, trustworthy, and organized digital storefront. I chose to build this within Squarespace to deliver an intuitive, highly visual, and streamlined web design for small business success.

Core Project Goals:

  1. Streamline the Store Architecture: Organize his growing library into logical, age-appropriate bundles (Ages 3–5, 5–8, and 7–12).

  2. Build Absolute Credibility: Create structural trust signals, highlighting that his resources are highly collaborative and fully educational.

  3. Frictionless Delivery: Set up a secure payment gateway that instantly emails print-and-play files directly to the buyer's inbox.

The Strategy: Strategic UX and Practical Online Store Solutions

I focused on designing a beautiful, highly streamlined interface centered entirely around product clarity and customer trust, utilizing Squarespace's core features.

1. High-Detail Planning and Long-Term Value

Before diving into layouts, I mapped out a high-level creative brief and thorough project roadmap. I presented Harry with multiple strategic directions, including practical recommendations for cost savings and long-term tech stack stability. This allowed him to establish his brand securely without running into massive software overheads down the line.

2. Immersive, Individual Game Showcase Pages

Instead of treating digital downloads like basic commodities, I built dedicated, content-rich landing pages for each main game module, such as The Enchanted Forest. This layout cleanly presents the deep narrative value of the product, outlining exactly what is included (e.g., character sheets, custom maps, and game master manuals) so educators and parents see the immediate value before checking out his ecommerce store.

3. Built-In Credibility and the "Try Before You Buy" Funnel

To remove all purchasing hesitation in the competitive family market, I integrated several critical trust layers:

  • The Free-Sample Funnel: I added a clear system where users can "Download a Sample Game" at zero cost, proving the simplicity and quality of the system instantly.

  • Automated Lead Capture: This free sample connects seamlessly to high-converting email subscription boxes, building an active list of engaged buyers for future adventure releases.

  • Social Proof Systems: I structurally featured real customer testimonials and highly visible copy emphasizing that his modules are loved and trusted by 900+ families and classrooms.

4. Simplified, Automated Digital Delivery

The entire purchasing flow was built around convenience. Because digital products thrive on immediate access, I structured a clean, integrated checkout system. The second a customer completes a purchase, Squarespace automatically triggers an instant download link to their email, keeping the backend entirely automated for the client.

5. Client Empowerment and Post-Launch Care

As a sole freelance website designer, my job isn’t finished just because a site goes live. To ensure the storefront remains completely manageable for Harry, I focused on creating an accessible, user-friendly interface.

Once the store structure was finalized, I provided Harry with comprehensive, personalized training on how to handle day-to-day site management. I taught him exactly how to manage inventory, view digital statistics, and launch updates independently. Because of the intuitive backend layout, he smoothly adds new products, updates seasonal pricing, and expands his catalog completely on his own!

Additionally, I continue to run periodic checks on the site to suggest small layout tweaks and optimizations to ensure his conversion rates remain consistently strong.

What the Client Said About the Project

Nadia is incredibly professional with a high level of detail in her brief and thorough planning as well as competency in her web design. She outlined different ideas and plans as well as suggestions for cost saving and long-term plans. Set up the e-commerce and designed it in a simplified way to help generate sales easily.

After the job was done, she also checked in regularly to make sure that everything was going smoothly and made additional suggestions and tweaks to see if there was anything further that could help with the website.
